Cactus Club Cafe
ABOUT US

History

Like many people, Richard Jaffray got a job as a waiter when he was 19 years old. Unlike most, however, Richard saw the restaurant industry as more than just a part-time job. He saw it as a career and a future.

In 1986, Richard and a fellow waiter opened their first restaurant, Café Cucamongas, selling cappuccinos, sandwiches and ice cream. In 1988, at the age of 23, they sold Cucamongas and opened the first Cactus Club Cafe in North Vancouver, British Columbia. The goal was to offer a fun, upscale restaurant where you would be welcomed with great food and friendly service in a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere.

Over the past eighteen years, Cactus has grown to seventeen restaurants throughout British Columbia and Alberta. We believe our continued success can be attributed to our people. The commitment and passion of our team is the reason our guests continue to choose Cactus again and again. Although Cactus has evolved over the years, we have never tried to change our philosophy; instead, we continually work on improving our menu, training and overall concept, never forgetting our humble beginnings.
