Casual Dining, Redefined

Edmonton, AB – "We hope that you'll like us as much as we like you, Edmonton – many thanks for the warm welcome to your wonderful city – you've been amazing."

That was Cactus Club founder Richard Jaffray speaking last night while greeting first-night guests, local suppliers and his hard-working opening crew at Edmonton's first Cactus Club.

"We've been a while in the making," he said, "but now we're fully prepped and really excited to welcome you into our new home. We hope you'll find lots of reasons to make it your new home too."

The cooking at Cactus is led by Iron Chef Rob Feenie.

"Please come in and taste us," says Chef Feenie. "And I'll make you a rocket salad or some truffled butternut squash ravioli that I think you'll love, and love to share. Chef Feenie was referencing the 16 'RF' signature items that he's placed on the menu-designed to be passed around the table and married to our award-winning wine list.

The interior design at Cactus (aka 'The House of Yes') is compelling too. It's comfortably modern, like the food and pricing, and as crisp as Chef Feenie's famous duck sandwich. The artwork is by Edmonton's own Tony Baker, and New York's own Andy Warhol.

Cactus Club Cafes are Green Table certified, feature Oceanwise menu items and are proud supporters of The Chefs' Table Society.

Cactus Club Cafe at the West Edmonton Mall is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week at 1946-8882 170th Street NW.
