1 Year Anniversary at English Bay
We can’t believe that it’s already been a year since we opened up our doors at Cactus Club English Bay. The year flew by, being jam packed with so many awesome events and firsts for Cactus Club Cafe.
We started off with a new and exciting menu that was different from our other restaurants. It featured new Rob Feenie items such as the Caramel Chocolate Trio, the Ocean Wise™ Sable Fish, and the Ceviche. Our wine list was also brand new and only included wines from around the world that were made by the water or the mountains.
The Celebration of Light fireworks were a great success and we most definitely had the best seats on the beach.
We celebrated our second year participating in Vancouver’s Annual Gay Pride Parade. It was a blast to drive our float past the restaurant on the beach and celebrate with such an amazing community.
Our summer was full of fun on the patio, and what better way to spend your time on our patio is there than to sip on one of our 98 Days of Summer Drink features. The Watermelon Margherita was a big hit and we cannot wait to find out what features will come this summer.
When fall came, we did not let the rainy days get us down. The view from our dining room was the perfect spot for some great Vancouver storm watching. We partnered with the Wickaninnish Inn in Tofino and gave away a weekend getaway.
Even in the coldest days of winter we continued to find fun on the beach. We gathered up the courage and took the plunge at the annual Polar Bear swim. We also made sure to warm up after by serving hot coco to the other brave souls that dove into the New Year with us.
As March is now upon us we are looking forward to another fantastic year at English Bay. On March 7th, 2013 we will be partake in our second year of Dining Out For Life. We are happy to donate 25% of the proceeds from all food sold on March 7th to benefit Friends For Life and A Loving Spoonful.
Last but not least Cactus Club English Bay is hiring for our summer season. This iconic location is hiring for all service and culinary positions. If anybody remember last summer, this place was crazy busy and we will be again this year! Please come down and apply within.
