Satisfy your Sweet Tooth in Support of the Make A Wish Foundation

Vancouver, BC – Cactus Restaurants Ltd. is today launching Sweet Dreams Dessert Month, an annual April tradition that, for the past14 years, has been raising funds for Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon.

The funds raised at Cactus Restaurants throughout the month go directly to making wishes come true for children like seven-year-old Morgan of Surrey B.C., who lives with a life-threatening medial conditions. Morgan is diagnosed with Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD), which affects her airways and can cause breathing problems, infections and other disorders.

Morgan’s dream has always been to go to Walt Disney World in Florida, and this past Fall, Make-a-Wish BC & Yukon made that dream come true. With the help of funds raised at Cactus Restaurants, the foundation sent Morgan and her family to the land of fairies and miracles where she met her favourite character, Tinker Bell.

From April 1 to 30, Cactus Club Cafe will donate one dollar from every dessert sale to Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon.  Additional to the goal of raising $7,500 for a child’s wish this year, Cactus Restaurants donates more than $4,000 in gift cards for families to enjoy a bon voyage meal on their way to wishes coming true.

“We are proud to support the communities in which we live and work. Our commitment to the partnership with Make-A-Wish BC &Yukon for the past 14 years has enabled us to help bring a joyful experience to seriously-ill children and their families” says Rob Feenie, executive chef for Cactus Restaurants Ltd.

“We are very grateful to Chef Rob Feenie and the Cactus Club for making this annual campaign possible again this year” says Ross Hetherington, CEO, Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon.  “Wishes change lives and we could not grant wishes to children like Morgan without support from our partners in the community like Cactus Club.”
