A Dollar, a Dessert, and a Child’s Wish Comes True

Cactus Club Cafe and Make-A-Wish® celebrate Sweet Dreams Dessert Month

During the month of April, all Cactus Club Cafe locations will donate one dollar from every dessert sold at their restaurants to Make-A-Wish. The promotion helps to grant wishes for children living with life-threatening medical conditions.

“We’re proud of our 16-year partnership with Make-A-Wish, it’s such a special way for us to support the communities that we live and work in,” says Richard Jaffray, CEO and founder of Cactus Club Cafe. “I like to think of it as a month of guilt free desserts!”

By ordering one of Cactus’s four signature desserts during the month of April, funds raised will help wishes come true for children like nine-year-old Hannah from Richmond B.C. who was diagnosed with severe pulmonary stenosis at birth.

Last November Hannah was granted her wish to go to the Aulani Disney® Resort in Hawaii with her parents and sister. A highlight from the trip for Hannah was a very special visit with the world’s most famous mice, Mickey and Minnie. “We are so grateful for this program,” says Hannah’s mom Julie Burr, “with all the surgeries Hannah has endured, it’s these moments that make the medical issues seem so far away.”

“Making the wishes of children like Hannah come true helps bring hope, strength and joy to families during stressful times,” explains Ross Hetherington, CEO, Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon. “We are incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received over the past 16 years from Cactus Club Cafe.”
