You can’t pick your family, but you CAN pick your coping strategy. We’re closed on December 25, but here’s a secret DIY cocktail recipe that our Bar Operations Manager, Kris Jensen, created called the Drunk Uncle.
The Drunk Uncle
1 ½ oz Calvados (Apple Brandy)
½ oz Apricot Liqueur
½ oz Dry Sherry
¾ oz Lemon Juice
½ oz Roiboos Tea syrup
1 oz Egg white
Dash of Cardamom Bitters
Nutmeg to garnish
To make this drink, add all ingredients to a shaker tin. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds with 2 cubes of ice. Then add a scoop of ice and shake for another 5 seconds. Strain into a cocktail coupe using a hawthorn strainer and fine mesh strainer. Use your savvy artistic abilities to add a dash of nutmeg to the top of the cocktail to garnish. Sit back, sip, and enjoy the chaos unfold.
