6 Things We Really Love About Cactus Club Cafe Station Square

Burnaby’s fourth Cactus Club Cafe is opening at Station Square near Metrotown, and for our opening team, it already feels like home. It’s been 30 years since we opened this city’s first Cactus on Kingsway (still bumpin’ just a short walk away), so our love for this neighbourhood and our guests goes waaaayyyy back.

Thinking of being one of our first guests as of July 16, 5pm? Here are the opening team’s favourite things about our newest Cactus Club Cafe at Station Square.

The Prawn Crunch Roll, Spicy Ahi Roll, Tuna Poke Bowl and the plant-based Avocado Zen Roll.

“The food. The team has been cooking and preparing, tasting, perfecting and tasting again to make sure we’re ready to deliver the delicious food we’re known for. We’ll have well-known Cactus classics and some new exclusive additions, including three sushi rolls and four plant-based dishes that people are going to love…Save room for the extremely tasty Drunken Cherry Chocolate Brownie. ” – Blake, Chef

“The space… retractable walls and windows wrap around the dining room and lounge making it feel like an open-air restaurant whether you’re in the lounge, dining room or the all-season patio. The patio is south-facing so it gets all kinds of sun and we’ve added in some misters that will keep our guests cool for those hot summer days.” – Amanda, Assistant General Manager

“The drinks. Wine, beer and cocktail lovers, you’re all going to love it here. We have half price bottles of wine all day every Tuesday and Wednesday… a fan favourite. And our nine craft beers on tap (all brewed locally!) will hit the spot at lunch, after work or while watching the game. If you’re looking for the perfect cocktail, we love mixing up the classics as well as some adventurous options… like our new party-sized French 757 (pictured), topped off with a bottle of sparkling wine and cotton candy.” – Nigel, Bar Operations

“The art and design. From the designer lighting pieces, including our signature Louis Poulsen’s Copper Artichokes, to our authentic art collection, our guests will find jaw-dropping pieces at every turn. We’ve curated pieces from some of the world’s most iconic artists including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, and Vancouver-born artist Graham Gillmore. – Anna, Designer

“The location. We’re right in the heart of the new Station Square community and it’s really easy to get here since the Skytrain is only a 3-minute walk away. There’s lots of parking around here too for those that drive. Not to mention we’re right beside Metrotown’s movie theatre for all your date night needs.” – Hilani, Lead Host

Front Desk Team, Station Square

“The people. There are quite a few of us that were born and raised in Burnaby, so it really feels like we’re coming home. This team is made up of some of the best in the business who take a lot of pride in our 30 year history here. We’re looking forward to welcoming our guests and treating them like family with the genuine gracious service we’re known for. ” – Jason, General Manager
